.Good accountants will build on the knowledge they alreadyhave by getting to thoroughly understand their clients’ unique business circumstances. - Be a communicator – You become an integral part of the business team, so you must be available, clear and understandable. More than that, you need to be proactive – finding ways to streamline and I prove the financial activities of the business.
- Know when to consult – A good accountant is rather like a good GP: having a sound general knowledge, with one or two specialist strengths. No one knows everything, though! There will inevitably be complex areas of taxation or financial advisory services for which you will need to refer.
- Be the kind of person that you’d like others to be – Everyone has too much to do in too little time. You need to be patient, friendly, understanding. Make all your interactions with others a pleasant experience!
